WE'RE AT IT AGAIN!!

Having only just caught our breath from the instore extravaganza that was Record Store Day 2015, with the musical smorgasbord that was Neil Finn, Tami Neilson, Orchestra Wellington, (plus Neil's cohorts Jesse Sheehan and Lisa Tomlins, and Tami's wingman Dave Khan), we've only gone and planned for another bloody awesome instore, haven't we?! Yup, we here at Slow Boat are entirely thrilled to announce that SJD, the brainchild of Auckland musical visionary Sean Donnelly, will be joining us here at the 'Boat for an instore performance appetizer at 5.30 pm on the 22nd of May, prior to their appearance that evening at MOON in Newtown (home of some of Wellington's finest beer and pizzas!) - which we are selling tickets for, too. SJD's latest release, "Saint John Divine" has become a firm favourite around these parts, and we are terribly excited to see how it translates live - lots of harmonies and some sweeping, orchestral arrangements. Absolutely one of the finest albums of 2015, I'm tellin' ya! There is a Facebook event here; https://www.facebook.com/events/1096283690388158/ And, while you're at it, you should sign up to the band's own FB page, here; https://www.facebook.com/pages/SJD/12793501823?fref=ts Truly, one of our most unique and special musical talents. Can't wait, see you all here, again! Furthermore - anyone who was down for any of the Record Store Day limited releases that didn't make it in time for the 18th might like to pay us a visit - we got a bunch of stuff in last week, and bits and bobs keep turning up, including the Foo Fighters much coveted "Songs From The Laundry Room" 10" EP, while we also still have a precious few copies of such gems as the Shihad "Killjoy" LP (it sounds INCREDIBLE!), Dexys Midnight Runners' superb, underrated "Don't Stand Me Down", the Shayne Carter/ Peter Jefferies "Randolph's Going Home" 7", and the Dusty Springfield "What's It Gonna Be?" 7" (backed by the terrific, and hard to find "Spooky"). Alrighty, then, hope everyone can make it down - it should be just terrific! And - even more exciting news to announce soon!! Love on ya, The Slow Boat Crew XX
