Lawrence Arabia (March 2009)

1: Your full name James Douglas Ross Milne 2: Where do you call home? I wish I could call somewhere home. I'd like to call Auckland home maybe, but I don't own or rent a physical shelter anywhere. My folks live in Christchurch, which I would describe as the largest city in the South Island. 3: What is your earliest musical memory? Meco's Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk 4: What is your favourite food? Tuna sashimi 5: Who would you most like to collaborate with? Michel Gondry or Wes Anderson. 6: Your favourite holiday destination, and why? Bath, for its parks, all-encompassing Georgian architecture, memories, and general evocative crickety Englishness. 7: What is the first song/ album of yours that anyone who is unfamiliar with your music should listen to? The Pool by The Reduction Agents, was the first moment when I felt I had made the music I intended to make, and also order generic effexor when I started sub-consciously synthesizing 66-68 era Kinks. 8: What's the last great film you saw? The Idiots. For all his polarising qualities, you just can't deny the persistence of vision of Lars Von Trier. What a psycho genius. 9: And the last great record you heard? Camera Obscura's Let's Get Out Of This Country. I don't listen to much music really - the more that is released, the less I'm interested, but this album is pretty perfect. 10: What is your proudest accomplishment, musical or otherwise? All those happy moments of realisation when I've been suddenly able to see that I'm achieving what I wanted to do; put them together and you have my proudest accomplishment which really adds up to the fact that I'm still doing this. 11: Will the All Blacks win 2011 World Cup, or choke (again)? They will definitely win.
