March, and onward

Greetings all, Welcome to the third month of the year - lots of new, exciting stuff to share with you! For starters, Record Store Day 2015 this year is on the 18th of April. It's a Saturday, and We are, again, going all out for you, the music-loving public, to make sure it is a day to remember - and one on which you remember US!!! Will let you know ASAP what we have going on, but you can guarantee that there will be a whole heap of the following; limited edition RSD vinyl releases, specials, prizes, giveaways, cheap Slow Boat tee shirts... and, an instore performance line up that oughtta put a smile on your dial - will let you know as soon as we are able... Furthermore, we are past the pre-and-post Xmas dross season, and into the part of the year where some great stuff starts turning up - might we humbly suggest Father John Misty's superb "I Love You, Honeybear" - a quantum leap on from his previous album, 2012's "Fear Fun". Or the new album from nouveau-Northumbrian folkies The Unthanks, the curiously "Sketches Of Spain"-scented "Mount The Air", or how's about new sets from Marilyn Manson, Jessica Pratt, Anthony Tonnon, or soon-come tourists Stephen Malkmus or Sharon Van Etten?? Super, huh?! Also - a reminder that next Tuesday, the 17th of March, at 5.30pm, we will host a one time only instore appearance from the venerable Mr Liam Finn, performing his Betchadupa songbook in honour of local music impressario and photographer Blink's (A Low Hum) series of photo book - the books will be for sale at a special Slow Boat price on the night... Very good, then - as you were. Hope to see you all here on Tuesday - and to share the RSD announcement with you all very soon... Bonza! THE SLOW BOAT CREW X
