September

Greetings, everyone! Trust that everyone has made it thru the colder months, and is ready to welcome the Spring that has already (sort of, just about) sprung! Lots of exciting things to share on the Slow Boat front - we have a truckload of new and secondhand vinyl and CDs instore, some really great new and reissue titles with which to fill your head with music. Firstly, and perhaps foremost-ly, there is new music from local Glass Vaults, a long time SB fave - their debut album "Sojourn" is here now on CD, and on vinyl soon, plus they will play instore at 4pm this Saturday - event page here. There are also new CD releases from the excellent Eb & Sparrow - their second album, ""Sun/ Son" is here now (vinyl to follow), and melodic, bookish indie rockers What Noisy Cats, and Southern gentleman Mr Delaney Davidson. We have also recently topped up our well-appointed Campbell Kneale (aka Birchville Cat Motel)-related section, with a new album from his current project Our Love Will Destroy The World and restocks of his doom metal band Black Boned Angel. On the global front, we have managed to secure some copies of the new Sun Kil Moon LP "Universal Themes" (saw them in Dublin last month, extraordinary), as well as the new compilation of the recorded works of beloved Flying Nun band The Jean Paul Sartre Experience - CD and LP. There are also new albums from Beach House, Yo La Tengo, Tame Impala (touring soon - and sold out, aargh!) and Dr Dre's 'comeback' album, "Compton". There are also, as you oughtta know, copies of the latest Phoenix Foundation album, the superb "Give Up Your Dreams" - the band is out on a nationwide tour starting next week with a nearly-already-sold-out show at San Fran - get on it. Some great gigs coming up before the end of the year, also - Courtney Barnett, the aforementioned Tame Impala, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Father John Misty (Auckland only - gah!) - looking forward to getting our fill of quality music... Otherwise - hope this missive finds you all well, hope to see you soon! A blessing upon your heads The Slow Boat Crew X
