December already?!?!?!?

GOOD GRIEF - it's almost Christmas again! Hard to believe, but it's time to start thinking of what to buy for that 'hard to buy music for' person in your life - and we here at Chez Boat have a plethora of wonderful gifty ideas that will make you appear lovely and thoughtful and generous, without breaking the bank (well, some of them, anyway...) Most excitingly, we have just received two MASSIVE new and reissue vinyl shipments from the US and UK - and with the exchange rate being favourable against the US, we have managed to keep a lot of the prices down to around $30 and under, despite the recent increase in GST - good, eh?! Included are must-have, classic titles from the like of the Velvet Underground, The Stooges, Pink Floyd, Guns 'n Roses, Blondie, Kraftwerk, Captain Beefheart, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, The Rolling Stones and many more, along with loads of great new and recent stuff from the likes of Arcade Fire, Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse, Interpol, The Good The Bad & The Queen... There's been some great stuff released and reissued this year, which would make wonderful Xmas gifts - say, for example, the wonderful Soul Jazz "Deutsche Electronic Musique" 2CD set, which is both an excellent introduction and overview to a whole bunch of fascinating music; Brian Eno's "Small Craft On A Milk Sea", Mavis Staples' "You Are Not Alone" (produced by Wilco's Jeff Tweedy), the fabulous "World Of Arthur Russell" set; and let us not forget some 'Boat faves from earlier in the year such as Connan Mockasin's incredible psychedelic mindtrip "Please Turn Me Into The Snat", or our homeboys The Phoenix Foundation and their award winning "Buffalo" set - still available on LP exclusively from Slow Boat!!! AND - in BREAKING NEWS!!!! We have limited copies of the CD reissue of acid- psych-rock NZ band Ticket's debut "Awake". Given that this has become one of the most sought after NZ rock albums on vinyl, we're anticipating the demand for this puppy will also be high, because - unlike lots of other rated/ hyped stuff - it is AWESOME...!
