Winter...

Yup, I'm afraid it is unavoidable - winter is here and it is time to hunker down and dig in with some quality new music! Take, for instance, the fine new album "High Violet" from chartbusting Brooklyn indie quintet and Slow Boat faves The National - the vinyl we have instore now is particularly tasty. We also have the 'intelligent disco' of the new LCD Soundsystem album "This Is Happening"; a terrific 2CD "Ultimate Collection" from soon-come visitor and godmother of country-fried rock'n'roll Wanda Jackson (we also have tickets for her San Fran Bathhouse show on the 21st June, $49, cash only); the newly remastered, 4 disc "Complete Fourmyula" set (as well as very limited vinyl of the 'unreleased' 4th album, effexor generic "Turn Your Back On The Wind"); and let's not forget, the latest (and greatest?) from or homeboys The Phoenix Foundation, "Buffalo" - available on vinyl exclusively from your favourite caring, sharing local record emporium. Oh, and we also have a fresh batch of dead swish black or brown Slow Boat tee shirts at the new special bargain price of just $25 - whoo hoo!!! Also recently unearthed from the Slow Boat archives is a copy of "Hostage To The Beat", Roger Watkins' fine, out of print paean to the Auckland music scene of 1955-1970 - please drop us a line if you are interested. Congrats due, also, to Sam and Jessica Scott on their new arrival, Ralph. Well done, fellas!!!
