September songs...

Howdy, everybody! Wow, almost at the end of another month, and lots of stuff to report back from the trenches!!! For starters, we have just received a fresh batch of Slow Boat tee shirts in a variety of colours, some of them never seen before - green and grey, along with the 'classic' black and brown. Intriguingly, we always seem to sell out of the larger sizes first - come on little people, lift your game!!! As for music, it would seem that the lean months are over, and there is a whole shedload of quality new stuff hitting the racks - new albums from young Kiwi indie upstarts Street Chant and Surf City (both also available on lovely, limited vinyl!), Grinderman 2, from Old Nick Cave and his errant Bad Seeds comrades, as well as new albums from 'Son Of Steve' Justin Townes Earle, the Trinity Roots live album CD/DVD set "Music Is Choice" (to brace you for their sold out upcoming reunion shows!), "You Are Not Alone" from soul legend Mavis Staples (lovingly produced by Wilco's Jeff Tweedy), School Of Seven Bells' excellent 'shoegazey' "Disconnect From Desire", and on a similar tip US indie darlings Deerhunter with their latest "Halcyon Digest", Todd Rundgren's "Johnson" (the songs of Robert Johnson), and lastly (but absolutely not leastly) Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan's third collaborative album, the excellent "Hawk". Hot dang, super stuff!!! Also, we entreat you to enquire with us first if you are looking to order from overseas - with a generous USD exchange rate, plus our bulk ordering power, we can often order things in for you cheaper than you can order them in yourself. Be good to yourselves - cheers! The Slow Boat Crew
