Late November, actually, to be honest!
Hope everyone is doing okay after our recent spate of earthquakes and flooding – our heartfelt thoughts go out to those in the Kaikoura region. In spite of it being the largest quake we’ve ever felt, Slow Boat fared remarkably well, as did the rest of the Cuba Quarter, it would seem – a few tumbling CDs and box sets, but no damage to speak of, thankfully.
Have had a splendid month, with a Friday night instore performance from Lawrence Arabia celebrating the vinyl release of his excellent “Absolute Truth” album, as well as a booklaunch for one of our heroes and favourites, former Go-Betweens man Robert Forster – the Q&A conducted by lifelong fan and friend of the band Richard Langston was an absolute treat, and Robert signed a whole heap of copies of his superb memoir “Grant And I” for happy, fortunate fans.
We also have the complete Crowded House back catalogue on LP and CD, just in time for their encore performances on the steps of the Sydney Opera House, including the never-before on vinyl outtakes collection “Afterglow”, and the magnificent “Together Alone”, which has been as rare as the proverbial hens teeth on LP. We also have full LP back catalogues from INXS and Bon Jovi, and also one off reissues of the Beastie Boys classic “Licenced To Ill” debut, the latest batch of Pink Floyd LP remasters (Dark Side Of The Moon, Animals, Wish You Were Here, Saucerful Of Secrets, Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, Meddle, Atom Heart Mother, More etc…), plus lovely vinyl reissues of classic Prince albums up to Sign O’ The Times – plenty of food for thought for Xmas gift giving, and an LP makes a wonderful present!!
There are also posters, Slow Boat tees, a heap of fine looking CD and DVD reissues, not to mention SB vouchers made out in any denomination you choose…
We look forward to seeing or hearing from you soon!!
Cheers, The Slow Boat Crew XX
