Howdy, folks – a pointed and timely reminder that tomorrow (Friday, the 22nd) at 5.30pm, we will be hosting an instore performance from the very marvellous SJD, whose latest album, “Saint John Divine” is certainly a candidate for album of 2015. They are also playing tomorrow night at Moon in Newtown, but you would be mad not to cop a double dose of this gorgeous music – we are selling tickets, and will have a special on the LP at the instore for just $30 – a ridiculous bargain, I’m sure you’ll agree…
Furthermore – if you look over to the right, there – we have a new instalment of the infamous Slow Boat Inquisition Q&A with one of our very favourite singers and songwriters, Mr Lloyd Cole.
So pleased are we to feature his musings, that we are prepared to overlook the fact that he won’t be cheering the All Blacks on at this year’s Rugby World Cup… we should also have a newly remastered and reissued box set featuring Lloyd and his wonderful band The Commotions and their back catalogue, including their stone cold classic debut, “Rattlesnakes”, sometime in June. There has also been a heap of activity in a redesign and overhaul of LC’s website – take a look at; http://www.lloydcole.com/
Meantime, hope everyone was okay in the recent spate of dreadful weather – time to hunker down with some wonderful new music…?!
Love on ya, The Slow Boat Crew XX
