GRACIAS

Well, what can we say?!

Record Store Day at Slow Boat 2018 was an absolute ripsnorter, a humdinger, a wee pearler... honestly, we could keep piling on the superlatives, but you get the general idea. We had a queue of patient punters down the street from 7am to get their hands on the limited vinyl releases, we had lollies (good ones), we had superb, memorable instore performances in the afternoon from Tiny Ruins, Mermaidens and late addition Tom Cunliffe, and we had the gracious presence and wise words of Finance Minister and local MP, the Honourable Grant Robertson.

And on top of all this, there were all you lovely punters - some who are very familiar, some who have probably never been here before - but we'd like to think we'll see you again. Because music is supposed to be fun. It should be about celebrating creativity, and connection, and it should be one of the things that binds a community together - which was very much how it felt on RSD.

So thanks, everybody, for making it a wonderful, wonderful day - there is a lot of behind the scenes work goes into making it a success, but, a bit like a party (which I guess it sort of is!), it's not MUCH of a party unless people turn up and get in the spirit - so good on you. The energy and enthusiasm a day like that brings is huge, and the feel-good factor is a hell of a buzz.

In the meantime, there is still just a handful of RSD vinyl left instore, and a couple of things that didn't turn up til after the 21st - come take a look!

And - let's do it again next year...?!?!
